Ahead of NHL Draft players in trade rumors include Rangers C

Prospects aren't the only lure when National Hockey League teams begin selections Friday. The draft is always rife with trade speculation.
This year's NHL Entry Draft begins at 7 p.m. ET Friday with first-round selections. Saturday's proceedings include rounds two through seven, beginning at 10 a.m. ET. Television coverage: NBC Sports Network, and Canada's Sportsnet and TVA Sports on Friday; NHL Network and TVA on Saturday.

Here are five players we expect to be traded before Saturday's 211th and final pick.
Cam Talbot, New York RangersSell high? It works in hockey as well as it does on Wall Street. The Rangers will cash in their backup Brian Dawkins Jerseys goaltender for something good, likely for their future. With Henrik Lundqvist atop his game, GM Glen Sather can swap Talbot for future a sets. Teams would love to have him because of his $1.45 million contract next season and the work he did while Lundqvist was injured.
Consider: Reports say the Edmonton Oilers, Buffalo Sabres and San Jose Sharks are interested. , a keen observer of hockey moves, says Sather has been offered two second-round picks for Talbot.
Sather can hold out as long as he wants, but he must make a deal Friday to collect a first-round pick. Talbot is 27, prime age for a goaltender. The says the Dallas Stars also have expre sed interest in Talbot. Reliable confirms the Stars are interested in Talbot. Kari Lehtonen is 32, and the team needs a solid backup and potential replacement.
Sather traded this year's first-round pick to acquire Martin St. Louis in 2014. The Rangers' earliest pick this year is No. 59.
A contributing factor: Sather has limited cap space and restricted free agents to sign. So peddling Talbot alone won't be enough. Slats might try to peddle Rick Nash or one of the forwards seeking a new contract J.T. Miller, Carl Hagelin or Jesper Fast. St. Louis is retiring, so his contract is gone.
Robin Lehner, Ottawa SenatorsGM Bryan Murray has an abundance of goaltending, thanks to the amazing spring run by Andrew Hammond. The Sens rewarded Hammond with a contract and likely will keep veteran Craig Anderson. That puts Lehner on Devonta Smith T Shirts the hook as trade bait.
"There's lots of talk. If there's going to be a trade before the draft it'll probably be draft day or thereabouts," Murray told . Anthony Harris Jerseys "And, if not, we'll play the scenario out as long as it takes."
Lehner, 23, is seen as a rising goalie who could step into a starting role next season. A team coveting Lehner would control his contract for at least three years.
Murray also wants to get rid of an expensive player; Garrioch mentions David Legwand and Colin Greening. Such "crap" contracts won't be easy for a team to swallow, and likely makes it difficult for Murray to fulfill his desires for a late first- or early second-round pick in return.
Eddie Lack, Vancouver CanucksAn unrestricted free agent in July 2016, Lack is on the block now. They can keep Jacob Markstrom and hope to get a second-round pick in return. While they covet the Sabres' 31st overall pick, a mid-second is more likely.
If not the Sabres, the Stars and Philadelphia Flyers are said to be interested.
Ben Kuzma of has a strong look at the Canucks' goalie options.
"There's a lot of talk right now and we're listening," Canucks GM Jim Benning said. "There are a lot of Tarron Jackson Jerseys moving parts to everything going on."
Without a pick in the second and third rounds, Benning appears keen on filling that void.
Jiri Hudler, Calgary FlamesA solid season by a good two-way forward makes him enticing. Hudler has a year left on his contract, which is a theme of teams looking to peddle players. The Flames might interest the Pittsburgh Penguins in a deal for a second-round pick and center Brandon Sutter.
Hudler is 31, with 31 goals and 46 a sists. He could be a cla sic trade-high guy who can interest a contender. He could be with Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin.
T.J. Oshie, St. Louis BluesHe and buddy Patrik Berglund are again meat on the burner. They have talent but fail to meet expectations in the regular season and especially in the playoffs.
The Blues want speed, alack of which killed them again this spring. They have Brandon Brooks Jerseys salary cap space. They want too much for Berglund, for whom they have been asking a first-round pick. Tough noogie; neither Berglund nor Oshie is expected to return as much.
Count the Washington Capitals among Oshie's suitors. The New York Islanders might be tempted as well.
